When someone in Khobar types “restaurants near me” or “best burger Dammam”, Google shows three restaurants on a map before any website. Those three get most of the clicks, calls and direction requests. Restaurant SEO is mostly about earning one of those places.
1. Get the Google Business profile right
- Primary category: the most specific one that fits (“Lebanese restaurant”, not just “restaurant”). Add secondary categories for what else you serve.
- Name: your real brand name only. Stuffing keywords into the name breaks Google’s guidelines and can get the listing suspended.
- Pin, hours and phone: exact location, holiday and Ramadan hours updated, a number that is answered.
- Menu and attributes: menu items with prices, dine-in, delivery, family seating, parking.
2. Photos that make people choose you
Upload real photos regularly: hero dishes, the seating area, the entrance from the street so people can find you. Fresh photos signal an active business.
3. Reviews: volume, recency and replies
Ratings and how recent your reviews are both matter, for ranking and for the customer deciding. Ask at the right moment and reply to every review. We wrote a full guide on earning Google reviews for restaurants.
4. Use the words people actually search
Arabic searchers rarely type the same phrase as English searchers. People search for a dish, a cuisine or a district: “مندي الخبر”, “كافيه في العزيزية”, “healthy food Dhahran”. Use those phrases naturally in your profile description, posts and website. More on this in Arabic SEO is not translation.
5. A simple website still helps
A fast page per branch with the address, map, hours and menu as text (not only a PDF or image) gives Google more to trust and lets you appear for searches beyond “near me”.
6. Local mentions
Being listed consistently on delivery apps, local guides and food bloggers’ posts, with the same name, address and phone, strengthens your local presence.
7. Measure it
Your Google Business profile shows calls, direction requests and website clicks each month. Track them alongside sales to see if visibility is turning into visits.
