A new restaurant does not have months to find its audience. The first weeks set the tone: people either talk about you, review you and come back, or the place quietly becomes “that new restaurant we never tried”. The good news is that a launch can be planned like a campaign.
Before opening: build demand you can see
Start publishing four to six weeks before the doors open. Show the kitchen being built, the signature dish being tested, the people behind the brand. The goal is simple: by opening day, people in your area already know your name and what you are famous for.
- Set up your Google Business profile early, with real photos, the menu, opening hours and the exact location pin.
- Pick one or two hero dishes and make them the centre of every piece of content.
- Collect interest: a WhatsApp number or a simple “notify me” link for the opening date.
Launch week: concentrate the budget
Spread thin, a launch budget disappears without anyone noticing. Concentrated in the first two to three weeks and targeted to a realistic radius around the branch, it creates the feeling that everyone is going. Combine paid reach with creators who genuinely eat at the restaurant, and make the first visit easy to share.
Turn first visits into reviews
Every happy first-time guest is a potential Google review, and reviews are what the next customer checks before deciding. Ask at the right moment, after the meal, with a short link or QR code on the table. Reply to every review, good or bad, in the language it was written in.
Months two and three: from visit to habit
Growth after launch comes from repeat customers, not just new ones. Track how many guests return, which dishes they reorder, and which days are weak. Then build content and offers around those facts rather than around guesses.
What this looks like in practice
When we took Moharram Bek into the Saudi market, the plan followed exactly this sequence. The result was more than 10,000 unique customers, over 1,000 repeat customers, more than 2,000 Google reviews with a 4.9 rating, and a 32× return on ad spend.
